That is an instrument I have only recently become aware of---and it seems to me to be just a bit unwieldy---but of beautiful tone!
Here is a singer that I just became aware of as well. I first heard Helen Traubel sing (at least as I can recall) in a broadcast recently on PBS about JFK. There was a inauguration gala that was never broadcast because of a significant snow storm. PBS recently aired the recordings of that event and Ms. Traubel sang the Battle Hymn of the Republic marvelously. Unfortunately, this is only a short recording of her voice and I could not find the recording I heard on PBS.
...and Autumn Leaves
Once again, I got distracted by the right side of the screen:
Beautiful!
I just saw something I'd never noticed before at minute 1:24...There's an Airman Deuce as crew chief, while two Staff Sergeants are standing by with fire extinguishers...I never saw an NCO in my life that lifted anything heavier than a coffee cup...
I think Fred will confirm that......Ben
Now, here's a treat — Chris Stapleton singing his own "Either Way." To think, this guy was the songwriter of many other artist's hits before we knew he was a terrific singer too.

Yeah, I know, that scruffy look cowboy affectation is getting really tired, but just listen to what he's doing here. When I first saw him perform this tune I thought the chorus was, "...you can stay or you can go, I will love you either way..." after listing all the ways their relationship was going wrong and thought how sweet, until I bought the song and listened closer to find the song really was dark. I love it either way.
Dreaming Tree by Dave Matthews Band videoed in concert in 2011 shortly before its great reed man, Le Roi Moore, was killed in an accident. The band is loaded with superb musicians and even sees fit to have The Preditor on violin. The trumpet player has been added in the last few years, but can tear it up. The drummer and bass player, who gets credit for writing Dreaming Tree with Matthews, are two of the best in the business. I don't know what genre DMB is in but I have numerous DVDs of them and soak it up.

Two of the greatest voices of our time in a duet — Barbara Streisand & Andrea Bocelli

I can't agree more. I find it sad that many popular singers try doing duets with trained singers like Andre Bocelli (Celine Dion immediately comes to mind) and come off sounding like rank amateurs. This is a performance of equals.
