The far right of the Virginia GOP is a rough and tumble bunch..
I live north of “the blue wall”.. our congressional district had a great republican (Tom Davis) for years.. now we are blue.. well, we had a great local Republican wishing to challenge the blue incumbent.. GOP hopeful went to Richmond to kiss the ring and receive the party blessing.. our GOP challengers paperwork didn’t include a Government shutdown possibility in his platform.. our challenger explained that his constituents were out of work in a shutdown, the non federal employees, taxi owners, restaurant owners, support contractors etc were all off without pay in a shutdown.. a surprisingly large percentage of the state committee were unaware or didn’t care about the small businesses effected..
shutdown was not added to his platform, but he lost anyway.. he still is a great guy..

I doubt that little room is allowed by this bunch of rinos to tolerate individual position statements, no matter how reasonable.
