    Thumbs up The "Higgins Boat" that allowed D-Day to be successful

    Was powered (most) by a Detroit 6-71 Diesel engine, modified by Gray Marine Motors (cooling)

    Some were also powered by a Hall-Scott Marine engine (gas).

    Very educational info. Per Wikipedia, 23,358 of the boats were made.
