    Exclamation Fill her up

I charged a Kia EV9 for the first time and it was more expensive than filling up my gas-powered car.

One of the biggest draws for owning an electric vehicle is the promise of their long term savings over traditional ICE (internal combustion engine) vehicles. Everyone knows that gasoline is expensive, which can get to obnoxious levels around holidays and peak vacation times throughout the year. However, I was in for a surprise when I decided to charge an EV for the first time at a charging station with my own money.

I'm just hoping that when the EV industry finally matures and the technology increases that they will become affordable and reasonable to refuel. I'm also hoping that hydrogen fuel can be made affordable. I much prefer it to electricity.

I don't expect to see any of that during my lifetime.

Wifey and I saw multiple hydrogen stations when in Nordic countries. Afterwards, I realized I should have checked the prices per liter to do comparisons.

I fuel up my Diesel at Harmon's Grocery store (a local's thing). Using my "Foodie Card" (which earns points with grocery purchases) I saved $1.00 per gallon. I get a lot of pleasure from such a relatively mundane thing such as this.
