    Does anyone else remember this?

I just verified that I was remembering this correctly---fashionable women used to wear live chameleons as a brooch Even as a kid I remember being grossed out by that. The chameleons had a small collar which in turn had a chain leading to a pin. That detail I had forgotten but just read it.

I guess if you were really sick you'd pin the little guy onto a paisley dress

    Odd - and fascinating.

It would have been interesting to see what color(s) the chameleons would become. Yet, it also would be extraordinarily inhumane to do to them.

I have some very vague recollection of that, but I don't think I ever saw it in person.

I grew up on the beaches of Southern California in the 60s and 70s Surfing, Fishing, Diving, Backpacking and Bike riding. I never did mix with the fashion crowd. Only 3 fashion items have ever caught my eye: Mini Skirts, Bikini's, Yoga pants

besides this was how I paid for my freshman year of college

I'm thinking those are waste container couplings near the "Sanitation Engineer's" feet.

When Madeline Kahn shows up at Frankenstein's mansion (Young Frankenstein, 1974), she's wearing a white fox stole with a head on it.
