    STOP!

    I get it!

Alaska has lost its patience with cruise ships.
Residents of Juneau, Alaska, are sick of looming megaships, crowded hiking trails and the frequent noise of sightseeing helicopters
I both "get it" and have been part of the problem Other ports looking at restricting cruise ships include Barcelona and Amsterdam----where we were in May

Raising his hand to acknowledge he's been contributing to the problem:

One of my favorite ports to visit has been Avalon on Catalina Island. Wifey and I have enjoyed several trips to it. The port area is relatively small and ships deploy their tenders to get passengers to and from the ship. And the beautiful Catalina Casino offers some great tours of its interior.

It's where my favorite actress drowned in Avalon's bay - Natalie Wood (1938 - 1981).
