Wikipedia lists health reasons for his retirement...I remember seeing him several times on Johnny Carson's late night show where he was an infrequent guest...YouTube has most of those appearances...

I've always liked his rendition of "Polly Wolly Doodle All Day"......Ben

I saw Redbone in a Houston appearance many years ago as an opening act for George Carlin. Just sang, no chatter, as you would expect, but very entertaining in a genre all but vacant without him. My favorite of his has been I Hate A Man Like You.

Here's someone most have not heard — Roderick Dixon, an opera singer and original member of Three 'Mo Tenors. Their first dvd of a show they performed was stunning to me, but none of the many fine tunes were better than Dixon's, A Song For You. If you are going to take on that iconic tune, you better be with it because you are severely exposed. He brings it...see if you agree —

Below is someone else with chops singing the same song, The Genius —

    Dance with my Father Again.

While listening to other selections from the Three Mo Tenors I found this. With Holy Week coming up this will certainly will be heard more--and never fails to cause me to have blurry vision. This might be the best version of this classic I have ever heard.

While I'm on spiritual music, here is another one that brings tears to my eyes at the first words.

I went looking for some of Keith Emerson music and finding a "new" channel on Sirius, #27 Deep Tracks. They had done a tribute to his music and recording he did as a solo artist, hope you like these two.

    Dave,
Three Mo Tenors are good. Very easy to listen to. I had never heard of them before. Here is four more tenors and this is one of my favorites.

    Great!

FWIW, that concert was being given at the Roman Amphitheater in Pula Croatia. It was being built when Christ was but a very young boy and is the most complete example of remaining Roman Amphitheaters in the world.

The sound I was getting was horrible. I do not hear too well as it is and I probably missed a lot. That guy has a lot of talent that he sent in a different direction. Very different and enjoyable. Just wish the sound had been better. Thanks.

I think I've posted this before or maybe somebody else did and I copied it, either way it is quite beautiful as is the young musician.
