My friend John Clayton says he can clearly hear the difference which he ascribes to the difference between analog and digital capability. While I am sure he can, I have no illusions of my own ability to do the same.

What I do hear clearly, no matter how carefully I handle them, is a record that is in continual decline.

One of my fall back stations on Sirius is "Escape"---and Friday afternoon I was in escape mode when this came on. How many times have I heard this---from how many artists---but never as an instrumental---it is beautiful

I didn't make it through listening to your link when I found this on the sidebar:

One of the great things about my cloud music library is that it travels with me. I miss my speakers but I supplement them with ear buds. As I was working just now Renee Fleming came on. I will spare you from opera--although she is a fantastic soprano, but here she is singing Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah.

    Very nice.

I enjoy bagpipes in limited doses. Many years ago we used to go camping at one of our most lovely State Parks, Rickets Glenn. For a number of years an old man who seemed to camp there every weekend in the summer would walk along the shore and play the bagpipes at dusk--it was one of the most beautiful and meditative sounds you could imagine--even the kids would stop their play and listen to the "old man".

Here are two more traditional---and spectacular pieces from the great showman (and musician) Andre Rieu.

I'm wondering if "Scotland the Brave" has ever been performed on any instrument other than the pipes...I always liked it......Ben

For some unknown and inexplicable reason, I was drawn toward this video even though my dancing has been known to frighten children and prompt callouts of the National Guard......Ben

I've never heard this piece before, and I think I know why, who can play it?
