    [QUOTE=wacojoe;1000802]...should it be permitted?

    Why not?

    What would otherwise be an accidental wound becomes death...for starters?

    We are going to do without a lot of products if you want to start banning anything that might cause death in the event of an accident.

    We already do, Mike. Just take a look at your car and any number of children' products. There's a threshold there somewhere where the potential harm outweighs the usefulness. Castor Oil plant flowers are exceptionally beautiful, but there is a reason you can't buy seeds and grow them.

    Yeah, I see a product that might not kill a pedestrian at 5 mph, but is pretty certain to be lethal at 50 mph. Should we limit cars to 5 mph?

    Bullets are intended to be lethal, that's the nature of the product.

    I vote Yea. It's like Mike say's; "Bullets are intended to be lethal" In fact I think we ought to supply them to the cripes and bloods.

    You do understand that anyone caught in the crossfire with these things, as is often the case with thugs, would be dead or wish they were more so than now, don't you? It would no longer be "patching a hole."

    I am not totally against these things, but see the problems. In fact, when I was in the DA's office prosecuting some particularly evil SOB's who had made it known they were coming to get their own back, I carried a slick little Browning .380 chambered with fragmentary rounds (easy to conceal in a suit, but under powered), but I worried about them then too. Luckily, I never had to fire one.

    Yea I understand Joe, and there is no trade off for innocent life, what if we included target practice with every box?

    I remember when the Glaser safety slug was trotted out with similar claims to be the 'end all' round. Nothing they describe can't happen with a standard hollow point round. Most people get shot from between 5-7 feet. As long as you hit your target all rounds are potentially lethal. Save your money.

    I wouldn't buy them except maybe to blow up a watermelon, or something. I just don't think they should be banned.

    If I ever need to shoot someone, my choice of weapon would be a 12 gauge shotgun with 00 buck. I'm sure that is just as lethal as the new bullets.

    I'd rather get shot with one of the bullets, I'm seen what 00 does up close.
