Hummingbirds have been holding their annual fall war games in my backyard for about a week now, even though it is not yet fall here. I wonder if they know something about an early winter that we don't know? The migration seems early to me.

I was on my back deck, about five feet from a feeder. I have a male Ruby Throat that has laid claim to it and will not allow any other hummers near. The chase tonight passed within about six inches of my face. Them boys be MEAN.
