Weird story, and the first I've heard of it...My first question would be who piloted the plane to its present crashed location, and why doesn't the pilot know the location?...And if the pilot did not survive the landing, why isn't the NTSB already involved?.....Ben

Interesting story.
Without more information I have to assume there was/is no danger to human life, so there is no exigent reason to locate the wreckage after a year or more has passed. The white man has made a myriad of promises to the various Native American tribes and it is about time we honored those promises. If Mr. Carlson wants his crashed aircraft back he should negotiate with the tribe with a reward to them for the recovery. He should make it clear that no one outside of the tribe will receive any reward and work with the tribe, who I feel sure would like the reward money and the respect of no outsiders on the Res.

When the pilot bailed, I wonder if he exclaimed, “Geronimo!”

I think the solution put forth by Mike would be effective and do-able.
