Governor is not a natural politician.. his wife saved him in the “black face” incident, he was saying/doing things that were not helping him.
Our older Democrats are pretty middle of the road.. our joke is that in Massachusetts or California our Democrats would be republican..
The Governor is anArmy Reserve surgeon and has said his stands on assault rifles is based on his experience in Iraq and Afghanistan.. he has seen what they can do.. his support for medical care for the poor is based on his civilian doctor experience..
In the big picture, he is not an Uber liberal..
And his stand on abortion was that it should be a medical decision.. it has been “spun” into much more..
He shall be gone in 2 years.. but unless something changes, another Democrat will be elected..
Imagine thatAnd his stand on abortion was that it should be a medical decision.. it has been “spun” into much more..

It may have been spun, but I watched him with my own eyes and heard what he said with my own ears, and frankly it was not pretty. I don't give him a bye on his stated out of his own mouth belief regarding late term and after birth medical decisions. And for the record I am pro-choice.

It’s about this time someone comes along to remind of the years of touting the “Trump/Russia Collusion” insanity in Dave’s favorite birdcage liners along with their tens of thousands of stories selling that crap, and what has happened to it with the dashing it all has taken with the Mueller Report and the Horowitz revelations. Stay tuned for more revelations, btw, this centipede has many more shoes to drop. Those far right sources have been vindicated on the important thrust of the matters, while The Paper(s) Of Record is/are left sucking wind and their concoctions of the 1620 Project trying to convince us that the country is and always has been and still is racist to its core.

Your post is laughable Joe. The rabid right attacks the NYT and Washington post as a diversion from their own sins.
Add to that---the largest---by a long shot---source of fake news in this country happens to be your buddy on PA Ave.
No person or institution can equal that endless stream of crap.

There is bias on both sides. To imply that the "mainstream media" is unbiased is simply unbelievable. I dont understand why people from the northeast are so enamored with the NYT. Its definitely a regional/ideaology thing.

I have never said that nor would I---I am fully aware of the warts of the Times---one of the reasons I subscribe to multiple papers. My point is that right left, middle matters not, they all require of the reader to apply appropriate judgement.
I fail to understand how the conservatives can maintain that the only bias is with "main street media"---that is simply ridiculous---we can start with Alex Jones and Glenn Beck---after moving on past trump.

Nobody has ever said that conservative news sources are not biased it's you that continues to say your vaunted newspapers and sources aren't biased and are always correct. You're the one that site's your sources as Superior to everybody else's. You're the one that does this. Time to look in the mirror.

I think everyone here knows media on both sides and even those who claim to be in the middle are biased and it shows in what they put on the street. No one here has denied that. Everyone has their favorite source(s), some, like me, read and watch both sides daily just to try to get to the truth. Good luck with that!
The point I'm trying to make is we all agree on media bias. Bickering about which media outlet is more, or less, biased gets us nowhere. This post is not aimed at any particular member, most of us are guilty of wasting energy and stomach acid on this fruitless topic.
The only way of discovering the limits of the possible is to venture a little way past them into the impossible - Arthur C. Clarke
Yet the biggest story in decades, maybe ever, was and is the total fraud of the Trump/Russia Collusion hoax, which your papers foisted on the public for years. They should be abjectly ashamed and humiliated as each brick is pulled from their wall of lies, but on they blunder. The proof of the pudding is in the eating and your guys were endlessly dishing out poison...still are. All they are left with is some hoakum about the evil of investigating the corruption of a confessed crank ex-VP. Pathetic.
I told you as it was happening, and it fell on deaf ears.

If your premise is correct then find for me just one incident were I bought into the Russian collusion.
You all seem to forget a few basics here:
1. There is far more to the NYT---and all worthwhile newspapers--than the political and opinion sections. Case in point---my first stop with the Times is the crossword! My most valued section---Food.
2. The Times is one of the few remaining newspapers in this country that have investigative journalists. I dare say your hometown paper isn't overloaded with them. The Times happens to be my hometown paper.
3. Most news sources today sit around waiting for a "handout"---and act as if they are doing a wonderful job. On a a bit of a personal note I find it humorous that a gentleman of your caliber can criticize the Times in the morning and quote British Tabloids in the afternoon!
4. I also subscribe to--and read the WSJ which happens to be on the other side of the road. Most of my reading of the "political news" at very least begins with the WSJ.
I am certain that few here, who want to criticize the Times for all kinds of alleged "misdemeanors and high crimes", don't even subscribe to a daily newspaper but instead rely on newtainment TV for their ready made gruel. The favorite child of the right---Fox--has exactly one worthwhile functioning journalist in Chris Wallace---you can scrap the rest and miss nothing of value.
I have no need to defend the Times--in fact I am reasonably sure that I have a far better insight than does anyone else here---most of whom, have never had a critical thought of their own, and are only parroting the rhetoric of the rabid right talking heads. The Times has value in our society--as does every "working" newspaper, God help us if we ever sink to being "served" by the likes of the singular lens of the tabloids and newtainment sources.

I agree with just about everything you said in this post. Your acknowledgement that the NYT is your hometown paper is what I was saying when I observed it as regional. FWIW, I have never seen an accurate/unbiased representation of my neighborhood in its pages. Pretty much everone I hang with (unprofessionally) are deplorables. I dont know a single person who thinks Alex Jones or Glenn Beck speak for them in any way. Only the left seems to consider them important or serious.
