mccarthy is no less foolish than this band of crazies. I have been in many high level business negotiations and for mccarthy to be giving concessions away with nothing in return is simply bizarre. It's a toss up of who is the most inept in this game.
One key principle that I always kept in mind is that a "good" negotiation is typified by neither side getting everything they wanted.
